Among the projects financed under the European Union’s framework programmes, the prestigious grants awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) deserve special attention. The ERC has awarded grants to researchers from the University of Warsaw 33 times and once to a foreign researcher who will carry out his grant at the university. Support is awarded in five categories: ERC Starting Grant, ERC Consolidator Grant, ERC Advanced Grant, ERC Proof of Concept and ERC Synergy Grants.
