4EU+Alliance
- Coordination of activities of the University’s central administration and organizational units within the framework of the 4EU+ European University Alliance.
The 4EU+ Alliance is one of the University of Warsaw’s strategic initiatives. It comprises eight European research universities. Apart from the University of Warsaw, these are: Sorbonne University, Heidelberg University, Charles University in Prague, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Milan, the University of Geneva and Paris-Panthéon-Assas University. The collaboration focuses on conducting world-class joint research, joint study programmes and educational offers, doctoral training, and undertaking initiatives related to innovation, technology transfer and the social responsibility of universities. In June 2019, the European Commission (EC) announced the results of the pilot call for proposals under the Erasmus+ European Universities programme. The 4EU+ consortium was among the 17 university alliances that received funding for their projects. In July 2022, the 4EU+ Alliance project received funding in the next edition of the European Universities competition, organised by the EC under the Erasmus+ programme. The One Comprehensive Research-Intensive European University (1CORE) project aims to further deepen cooperation between the Alliance’s universities, increase the virtual and physical mobility of students, doctoral candidates and employees, promote innovative education, and develop a shared digital infrastructure. Member universities carry out joint research, educational and staff development projects. Most of these relate to four Flagship programmes:
- Urban Health and Demographic Change
- Europeannes: multilingualism, pluralities, citizenship,
- Digitisation – Modelling – Transformation,
- Environmental transitions.

HR Excellence in Research award
- Contribution to the Implemention of the HR Strategy for Researchers
- The Office for International Research and Liaison is represented in the Working Panel for the Implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers by the Head of the Office – Ms. Diana Pustula, M.A., LL.M.
The award is granted for a period of three years, based on the HR Strategy for Researchers at the University of Warsaw (HRS4R) PL EN developed by the University. Its renewal requires a continuous process of improving internal procedures and practices to enhance the working conditions for researchers, in line with the detailed principles of the Charter, grouped into four thematic areas:
- Ethics, integrity, gender and open science
- Researchers’ assessment, recruitment and progression
- Working conditions and practices
- Research careers and talent development
The implementation of the Charter is carried out by two bodies: The Working Panel (the Panel), chaired by prof. UW, dr hab. Julia Kubisa, responsible for the implementation process, and the Steering Committee (the Committee), chaired by prof. dr hab. Sambor Grucza, responsible for supporting and monitoring the implementation of the Charter. The Working Panel consists of individuals involved in implementing the actions set out in the Action Plan.Representatives of the Committee and the Panel remain in close cooperation. Representatives of the Human Resources Office regularly participate in information meetings organised by the European Commission, the National Contact Point, as well as in individual consultations.
The objective of the HRS4R and the Action Plan for 2022-2027 was to develop a coherent, ambitious, yet realistic and evidence-based vision that would strengthen the previous achievements of HRS4R at the University of Warsaw in the years 2015-2021 and enable new initiatives supporting the University’s research environment.
